In future, this request will meet the visitor in various languages at the entrance area of the Mehringplatz.
There, at the beginning of the busy Friedrichstraße, the urban developed art project THE BERLIN ORACLE will be created right beside the PATH OF VISIONARIES. It is an architectural game that inspires to linger on, relax and reflect. An accessible, comprehensive work of art. A place where you can communicate and breathe freely. It represents an oasis of time in a turbulent big city.
There are huge metal flags that follow the order of the color spectrum that are installed on the roofs around the buildings that encircle the Square. The colors reflect the many-sidedness of all cultures and their peoples, thus symbolysing the harmonious entirety that exists from many smaller parts. It serves the additional function of representing the sixty-four hexagrams of the I-Ching.
The colour chosen by the visitor will lead him to a plaque on the ground, designed by artist Helge Leiberg. There, he will find inspiration from the I-Ching, the 2500 year-old book of Asian wisdom, and the oldest text about the art of communication.
