The European idea of common values in cultural diversity shall have a
forum in the heart of the nation's capital with a rich cultural program.
The idea of the EUROPAFESTIVAL - BERLIN emerged in 2006 as a result
of the inauguration of the European landmark, PATH OF VISIONARIES in the
pedestrian area of Berlin's Frie- drichstrasse.
The EUROPAFESTIVAL - BERLIN refers to the his- torical significance of
the neighbouring Belle-Alliance-Platz, which is today Mehringplatz, and
its modern contemporary interpretation, the city's art project, PATH OF
VISIONARIES.
The aim of the EUROPAFESTIVAL - BERLIN along with the PATH OF
VISIONARIES is to make the southern part of Frie- drichstrasse more attractive for
residents, Berliners and tour- ists and to strengthen its identity.
The EUROPAFESTIVAL - BERLIN intends to support the local
economy and create networks. By actively integrating busines- ses and
freelancers and cultural institutions, it seeks to refresh the image of
the location.
